![]() ![]() ![]() By identifying the role of guidance and counseling services as well as strategies that can be used, then the counselor can face the LGBT phenomenon in Indonesia properly and optimized. ![]() While the individual scale, the challenges that must be answered by counselors is about how it can help people who have a LGBT's tendency with a positive regards but still does not conflict with the values and norms prevailing in society, so that people can adapt to it. On a socio-cultural, guidance and counseling role is to provide an understanding and where possible prevent the spread of the LGBT phenomenon. Some guidance and counseling services are included in the basic service, responsive service, individual planning and support systems can be optimized to realize the functions of the understanding, prevention, adaptation and alleviation. Guidance and counseling as a helping profession has a role of its own for dealing with this phenomenon. In addition, these individuals also have difficulty in selecting and throughout his career. Numerous studies reveal that individuals who have a LGBT's tendency often have problems in terms of acceptance of self and interaction with the family and social environment. For Indonesian culture whose have very strong hold values of divinity and religious, LGBT presence is a scourge for social life. ![]() LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) is a phenomenon that has long been a controversial issue that is debated. Among the benefits of this article is to (1) raise awareness counseling teacher or counselor about the importance of developing a counseling service that is integrated with the research, (2) develop a research culture for counseling teacher/ counselor, (3) encourage educational institutions both school/ madrasah/ pesantren for developing research-based counseling services, (4) encourage universities that provide education academic and professional counseling to develop research activities and community service through mentoring research-based counseling services. The discussion of this article are (1) the background of the counseling service based research, (2) understanding the tasks and activities of counseling teacher or counselor, (3) reason for the existence of counseling in education, (4) the differences and similarities counseling services with research PTK-BK, (5) the motivations and goals of research-based counseling services, and (6) management of research-based counseling services. Counseling services based on research carried out to improve the quality of learning through counseling. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the subject of study and reason as well as research-based counseling service management. ![]()
